She cheers, she walks (almost) - She's Wondergirl!!

Almost walking!

This is such a wonderful age! Annika has discovered how to open and shut cupboard doors and has found her toy stash in the bookshelves (with doors) in the living room. She can sit for ages and ages opening and closing the doors!

She also loves to clap (and eat spaghetti as you can tell from her tray!). Last night we went down to the Midtown Market where there was a singing group for toddlers. Annika had so much fun dancing in my arms and on my shoulders and crawling over to every child she could find. She loves people, loves laughing!


A couple of weeks ago we were out at a restaurant for brunch and a lady came up to us to tell us in all her years she's never seen such a well behaved baby. Annika had been sitting there playing and looking around and eating for quite a long time as Anna and I caught up with an out of town friend. We LUCKED out!!

We're due for another baby (same donor) at the end of May. Anna got pregnant on her first time! Amazing universal balance, wouldn't you say?

Catching up!

It's been ages - so much as happened in the last few months!

First, want to share this video, even though it's a bit old:



Right now she's still up, full of energy in her crib. She must have rocked forward and back over 100 times (she lead forward, wait a little, then fling her body back and laugh and laugh). This she did on my lap instead of sleeping. Anything to avoid sleep!

She likes to play the same kind of delay-surprise with peek-a-boo. We'll put something over her head and for ages - as much as 60 seconds - say "Where's Annika? Where could she be?" until finally she dramatically pulls off the blanket and laughs and laughs. We're so lucky she has such a good sense of humor!

We feel very, very lucky she's such a good natured baby. We bring her all over the place with us and there's never even a little cry. She loves people and playing and especially loves her little puffs finger foods :-).

Hi everyone,

This is a short one taken a few weeks ago (or yikes, maybe a month?).

Annika is 7.5 months already!

Wow - can't believe it! She is such a big girl - about 20 pounds! She's got a great sense of humor and is such an easy going baby.

As you can see by this photo we took last weekend at REI, she's found her tongue and thinks it's great fun to stick it out as far as she can. It's so easy to get her laughing and laughing like she's heard the funniest joke of her life. Just make some silly faces and she's in bliss!

Just love spending every minute I can with her.

This next photo was taken a week and a half ago by Anna's mom in Nebraska. We drove all the way out there with Annika strapped in her car seat. She was up pretty much the whole way and was just fine. (We were thrilled.)
